The American Lung Association of Arizona's southern office serves the counties of Cochise, Pima, and Santa Cruz. We are supported by legions of dedicated volunteers, a professional staff and leading experts in lung disease. We envision a world free of lung disease. Our mission is “to prevent lung disease and promote lung health.”
The American Lung Association of Southern Arizona strives to meet its mission through research, education, and public advocacy. Services are funded through the generous support of the community.
The programs and services of the American Lung Association in Southern Arizona include:
Funding qualified clinical, basic science, and behavioral lung health research.
Providing the latest information on lung health, medications, and medical treatments through printed materials and our national website, www.lungusa.org.
Professional assistance with lung health questions through our Call Center, accessible toll-free at 1-800-548-8252.
Smoking cessation programs for adults and teens, and our Tobacco QuitLine accessible through our 866-QUIT-YES number. Additionally, smoking cessation classes are available through a partnership with the Pima County Health Department.
Tobacco Prevention and Education can be seen in action with “Get Real About Tobacco” a school based program designed to educate students about the dangers of smoking. Our S.W.A.T. team works to “kick butts” in the community by working on projects that educate the public on the dangers of smoking and second hand smoke.
Open Airways for Schools is an asthma education program for children and for adults we provide Breathe Well, Live Well.
Camp Not-A-Wheeze is a unique summer camp opportunity for children ages 7-14 with moderate to severe asthma.
Our Better Breathers Group provides support and education for adults who suffer from chronic lung disease.
